Coronavirus: Toyota will help build 10,000 face shields per day
Toyota Kirloskar Motor's supplier partners Stump Shuel and Somappa Springs are making more than 5,500 face shields nowadays, and the companies will take it up to 10,000
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has taken an important step to increase the production of face shield for the workforce and agencies engaged in health services in the state of Karnataka. It has announced its expertise to one of its suppliers, Stump Shuel and Somappa Springs.
The supplier was initially producing 275 face shields, although, with Toyota's support, the production has managed to reach over 5,500 daily. Now, to support the efforts of the central and state government in dealing with the Coronavirus, an attempt is being made to take this figure soon to 10,000.
Toyota has said that it is working in every direction to help its supplier achieve this goal. Apart from this, the company will also continue to search for partners in this fight from Coronavirus. Toyota has said its doors are open for further assistance.
Deputy Managing Director of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Raju B. Ketkale said, "Toyota has always supported its partners, and when Stump Schule and Somappa Springs announced their plans to develop and manufacture face shields for public health workers, Then we joined them. Recently, Toyota Kirloskar Motor contributed Rs 2 crore to Karnataka Chief Minister Relief Fund and Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority. Additionally, the company has also provided 3,000 Hazmat suits to government health volunteers in Karnataka as well as deployed 14 buses for the state health department.
