Exclusive: Volkswagen will not launch AWD version of Tiguan SUV in India
Talking about some of the features of Volkswagen Tiguan SUV, it includes LED lighting, and a single-bar LED brake lamp at the rear and Fox diffuser at the bumper.
New Delhi: Volkswagen India has said that the all-wheel-drive(AWD) version of the Tiguan SUV will not be launched in India. This SUV will only be made available in the 2WD option, which will likely be given a manual and automatic transmission. A 1.0-liter TSi petrol engine is to be offered with Volkswagen Tiguan, which generates 108 bhp power.
The SUV is scheduled to be launched in India in mid-2021. The company built the Tiguan on the new MQB A0 IN platform, which has been developed for the Indian market on Khataur. Talking about some of the features of the car, it includes LED lighting, a single-bar LED brake lamp at the rear, and Fox diffuser at the bumper.
Volkswagen India is about to launch four new SUVs in the next few years, and the new Tiguan can be launched in India by the end of 2020. The compact SUV is powered by a 1.0-liter turbocharged TSI petrol engine that generates around 113 Bhp of power and 200 Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG gearbox will be provided with the Volkswagen Tiguan.
The showcased model of the company seems to be close to the production, which has been introduced with LED lighting, single-bar LED lamps at the rear, faux diffusers on the bumpers, and firm boxy profiles. The look of the SUV is quite butch and urban, which has been increased by 100 mm more than the previous model.
The cabin of the new Volkswagen Tiguan is very premium, which has been given exterior color highlights, which is much better than the black and gray cabin provided earlier. Talking about the features, the company is going to provide a fully digital instrument console, an extensive touchscreen infotainment system, fast charging USB slots, and possibly connected technology with the new Tiguan.
Adequate space has been provided with the rear seats of the compact SUV, which is a result of the increased wheelbase of the car. Apart from this, the vehicle has a better headroom and lower room, which has been made available to the customers due to the widening of the car. The company has provided rear AC vents for rear passengers.
