Kerala Women Police got Royal Enfield on lockdown duty.
A specially formed women's patrol team by the Thrissur police is taking care of senior citizens, women, and children amidst lockdown.
The southern state of Kerala has received praise from across the country for its proactive response to the coronavirus epidemic. Unique solutions have emerged in the state, and the police system has also been tightened. Kerala is the very densely populated state in the country, and for this, ensuring lockdown means extra effort. In this episode, a unique women bike squad has been formed to help implement the lockdown most effectively in Thrissur city.
The unique thing about these women patrol teams is that they are carrying out their work on Royal Enfield motorcycles. Color-coordinated helmets have also been provided to them for easy identification.
The primary task assigned to them is to help senior citizens, women, and children, as well as to implement lockdown. It is a part of Kerala Police's Janmati Suraksha Pariyojana, which aims to effectively reduce the distance between police and public.
For a long time, Royal Enfield motorcycles have proved useful in patrolling the police across the country. In this challenging time today, when everyone needs to stay indoors, these women of Kerala Police have once again started riding these bikes, which they had learned to drive earlier this year.
The move was taken just before Vishu's auspicious occasion earlier this week when a large number of customers were expected to arrive in markets across the city.
