Coronavirus Lockdown: Bharat Benz Extends Warranty
The warranty, extended warranty and free service, which expired on 15 May 2020, has now been extended for two months.
Chennai-based commercial vehicle manufacturer Bharat Benz has taken some necessary steps for its customers because of the ongoing Coronavirus lockdown. The company has also brought some relief for the drivers of Bharat Benz trucks which are stuck in different parts of the country.
Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has extended the warranty, extended warranty and free service date by 2 months for its truck and bus customers. This decision will apply to the warranty expiring between 15 March 2020 and 15 May 2020.
Satyakam Arya, MD and CEO of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, said, "During the lockdown, some of our India Benz customers are delivering the necessary items to the right place to support the community." To support them in return, we have decided to extend both the service and warranty by two months. "
The company is also assisting BharatBenz truck drivers who are away from home for immediate basic needs. For this, DICV has tied up with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). To avail the facility, stranded drivers can dial helpline numbers and request assistance. This information will be given to the nearest HPCL team, who will contact the driver and offer the necessary support.
The company also came up with measures to help authorities deal with the coronavirus epidemic last week. Primary among them was a pledge to donate cash to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund and PM Care Fund. Apart from this, the company has also given high-tech critical care ventilators, bio-PPE kits, masks and hand sanitizers to local medical services and administrative departments.
