Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB Showcased – Gets Supescreen
2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB Design
The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB. as the name suggests, is longer than the standard E-Class, which was unveiled to the world in April 2024. The 2024 E-Class LWB measures 5092mm in length, 1880mm in width, 1493mm in height and sports a wheelbase of 3094mm. Compared to the outgoing model, it is 18mm longer and 20mm wider. AS far as the design is concerned, the E-Class long wheelbase looks quite similar to the standard E-Class apart from the obvious difference in size. Changes over the standard model include a longer rear door and the quarter glass placed behind the door frame rather than on the rear window. The front bumper gets slight revisions like larger air intakes and a wider grille. Other highlights include multi-spoke alloy wheels and LED tail lamps.
2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB Features
The biggest highlight of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB’s cabin are the rear seats with improved legroom and kneeroom. Unlike before, the rear seats now offer a “Boss” button that allows the rear seat passenger to slide and fold the front passenger seat forward to liberate more room. The headrests in all seats also get a neck heating feature and there’s ambient lighting all around the cabin to offer a soothing experience. The rear armrest now gets 2 wireless charging pads as well.
The driver and the front passenger have many luxuries too, such as the Superscreen, which integrates 3 screens to offer plenty of information and entertainment. The Superscreen comprises a 12.2-inch digital driver’s display, a 14.4-inch infotainment system, and a third screen for the front passenger. There’s even AI, or artificial intelligence, that automates various comfort-related features.
Powertrain Specifications And Price
While the China-spec new Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB is powered by a 6-cylinder petrol engine, the India-spec model is likely to get a 6-cylinder diesel engine in the top variant. The lower variants could get a 4-cylinder petrol and 4-cylinder diesel engine option as well. The current E-Class LWB’s top variant is powered by a 3.0L turbo diesel engine that puts out 280PS of power and 600Nm of torque.
The current E-Class LWB is priced between Rs. 74.95 lakh and Rs. 88.0 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect the new model to cost a few lakh rupees more due to the new tech features it offers. The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB is likely to go on sale in India in the second half of 2024. When launched, it will rival the likes of the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6 and the Volvo S90.
While the interior of the CurVV EV is not visible in the latest spy shots, we expect it to offer a similar design and features as Tata’s latest SUVs. Expect features like the steering wheel with the illuminated Tata logo, touch-based HVAC controls, electric sunroof, the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and the digital instrument cluster, among others.
