September 2023 Hyundai Car Sales Analysis - YoY, MoM Change, 6-Month Trend

September 2023 - Hyundai Car Sales Figures - YoY Change

  • The Creta is a consistent top seller for Hyundai, with about 12,717 units sold in September 2023. This is a drop of 1.16% from September 2022.
  • The Creta and Venue were the only cars from Hyundai’s stable with a 5-digit sales number in September 2023.
  • Verna was the top-gaining car amongst the high volume Hyundai cars with over 57.80% growth.
  • Except Verna, Venue was the only YoY gainer in Hyundai’s roster. I saw an increase of 10.61% `in YoY comparison analysis. Rest all other models saw a drop in dispatches.
  • Among the losers, the Grand i10 Nios and Tucson saw a similar decline of around 44% decline in dispatches in our September YoY comparison, making them the top losers in the YoY comparison analysis. 
  • They were followed by Kona EV with a 38.39% YoY decline in comparison analysis for the month of September, and then by Alcazar which reported a drop of 25.20%..

September 2023 - Hyundai Car Sales Figures - MoM Change

  • Most cars reported a growth in MoM comparison analysis for the month of September. 7 out of 11 cars from Hyundai that are on sale in the indian market currently saw growth in dispatches over those in July 2023.
  • Speaking of mass-market gainers, i20 and Alcazar reported around 32% gain in MoM comparison analysis for the month of September over August. But it is worth noting that Ioniq 5, which is a very low volume car, reported over 35% MoM growth in September over August.
  • Grand i10 Nios was the top loser with a 28.51% MoM drop in September, whereas Kona EV reported a drop of 24.18% over its August sales figures.
