Honda Elevate Makes Japan Debut As New WR-V
Honda Elevate-Based WR-V – Key Differences
The Japan-spec Honda WR-V features the same exterior design as the Elevate SUV, which was launched in India in September 2023. However, it gets a few differences inside the cabin. The Japan-spec WR-V is offered with a black cabin theme while the India-spec Elevate offers a brown theme. The new WR-V also misses out on features such as a single-pane sunroof and wireless phone charger over the Honda Elevate. Additionally, it also gets a different 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with physical buttons along the right edge of the screen.
The India-spec Honda Elevate is offered in 7 monotone and 3 dual-tone colour options while the Japan-spec WR-V is only offered in 5 monotone colours. Despite these differences, both SUVs feature the same list of safety features, which include Honda’s LaneWatch camera and ADAS features such as forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control.

2024 Honda WR-V Powertrain Options
While details about the WR-V’s powertrain options are scarce at the moment, Honda have revealed that it shares the same 1.5-litre normal petrol engine as the Elevate sold in India. Hence, expect it to produce the same 121PS of power 145Nm of torque as the India-spec Elevate. However, while the Honda Elevate is available with a 6-speed manual and CVT automatic options in India, the Japan-spec WR-V could be limited to the CVT only. Additionally, Honda are unlikely to offer the WR-V with any form of hybridisation too.
