Hyundai Ioniq 7 Electric SUV Spotted – Shares Platform With Kia EV9
Hyundai Ioniq 7 eSUV Spotted On Test
The latest spy shots of the Ioniq 7 comes all the way from Germany and it shows a heavily camouflaged SUV undergoing tests. While the Ioniq 7’s design isn’t visible through the camouflage, it is expected to look similar to the Seven Concept that Hyundai showcased in 2021.
Based on images of the Seven Concept and the latest spy shots, we could expect the Ioniq 7 to feature a flat and upright bonnet, a full-width LED DRL and vertically stacked LED headlamps housed within the front bumper. Other visible elements include a large panoramic sunroof, silver rood rails, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, large windows and a rear quarter glass that kinks upwards.
The production-spec Ioniq 5 is expected to feature muscular haunches, squared-off wheel arches and large 20-inch alloy wheels. The rear of the Ioniq 7 could feature vertically-stacked LED tail lamps, a faux skid plate and a large tailgate. The spy shots also reveal the 3-row seating layout of the upcoming Hyundai electric SUV. Like the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, expect the Ioniq 7 to feature pixel-themed lighting elements all around.

Hyundai Ioniq 7 eSUV Platform And Powertrain
The production-spec Hyundai Ioniq 7 will be based on the same E-GMP platform as the Kia EV9. Expect both SUVs to share an identical wheelbase with minor differences in length, height and width. As far as powertrain options are concerned, we expect it to share the same EV drivetrain and batteries as the Kia EV9. The lower variants could get a 76.1kWh battery pack to power a rear-mounted electric motor, while higher variants could get a 99.8kWh battery pack to give it a range of over 400km on a single charge.
We expect Hyundai to launch the Ioniq 7 in India in late-2024 or early 2025 as the carmaker could earmark the first half of next year for the Ioniq 6 electric sedan’s launch. We expect the production-spec Hyundai Ioniq 7 eSUV to get a price tag ranging between Rs. 90 lakh and Rs. 1.20 crore when launched in India.
