Mahindra XUV.e9 Interior Spied With Triple Screens And More

Mahindra XUV.e9 Interior Spied

Based on the interior spy shots of the XUV.e9, we can confirm that it shares the same layout as the XUV.e8, at least at the front. The latest spy shots suggest the XUV.e9 could get features such as a 2-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, three 12.3-inch screens, and more.

The biggest highlight of the XUV.e9 is likely to be the three 12.3-inch screens. All of them reside within the same frame. While one functions as the instrument cluster and the middle screen controls infotainment features, the third screen, placed to the left of the middle screen, could offer entertainment options for the front co-passenger. The frame that holds all three screens are bookended by AC vents while the trapezoidal central vents are placed below the frame. Below these vents lie all the controls for the HVAC system. The spy shot suggests the XUV.e9 could get rotary dials for setting temperature, blower speed and even controlling the volume of the infotainment system, while capacitive buttons could take care of other features.

The centre console of the XUV.e9 features a gear selector with brushed silver accents and 2 rotary dials. While the dial functions are not clear in the spy shot, we believe they could control drive modes and the AWD system.

Meanwhile, the door cards feature a mixture of soft and hard-touch plastics and fabric all over and the dimpled texture for what could possibly be hiding the front tweeters add a touch of sophistication to the cabin. The XUV.e9 in these spy shots get fabric seats while the centre armrest gets a faux leather finish.

Like the XUV.e8, the XUV.e9 is expected to be based on Mahindra’s new INGLO platform. It is likely to be powered by BYD’s prismatic blade cell batteries, with capacities ranging from 60kWh to 80kWh depending on the variant. Reports suggest the XUV.e9 could be offered with the option of a single electric motor at the rear axle and dual electric motors at either axle for all-wheel drive capabilities. The XUV.e9 is likely to offer a power output ranging between 227PS to 345PS, a real-world range of over 400km on a single charge, and a top speed of 200kmph. When launched, the XUV.e9 could rival the upcoming Tata Harrier EV as well as the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.
