VW Launch Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition At Rs. 16.30 Lakh

Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition Launched

The Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is part of the several special editions the German carmaker announced for its C-segment SUV back in April 2023. The automaker has already launched the Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Limited Collection in 2 colour options – Deep Black Pearl and Matte Carbon Steel Grey. The Trail Edition is VW’s next offering in the Taigun GT Edge Limited Collection. 

The Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition gets functional roof rails, special decals on the rear fenders, doors and C-pillar, 17-inch black alloy wheels, red brake calipers and a ‘Trail’ badge on the tailgate. Apart from the white paint job seen in the image above, the Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is also available in Matte Carbon Steel Grey and Deep Black Pearl.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition Features

The Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is based on the GT variant of the Taigun. Hence, it offers all the features found in the Taigun GT, including: 

• 10-inch touchscreen infotainment
• Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
• Wireless charging
• Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
• Automatic headlamps
• Reversing camera

In addition to the above mentioned features, the Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition will also get leatherette seats with ‘Trail’ debossing and red contrast stitching. Unlike the GT Plus variants of the Taigun, the Trail Edition does not offer powered and ventilated front seats, sunroof, cruise control, full-digital instrument cluster, LED headlamps and 6 airbags.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition – Powertrain

The performance line GT variants of the Taigun come with a 1.5L turbo petrol engine. It offers 150PS of power at 6000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1600rpm and 3500rpm. This engine offers active cylinder deactivation that shuts off 2 of the 4 cylinders when cruising at a constant speed to aid fuel efficiency. It comes with both 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission options.
