Coronavirus: Hero Motocorp accelerates relief operations
Hero MotoCorp is engaged in Coronavirus relief operations across the country where lakhs of food have been distributed along with making face masks, sanitizers.
Hero MotoCorp is rapidly pursuing its coronavirus relief operations in India. The company has now focused its attention on making sanitizers and face masks. So far, Hero has distributed about 5,000 litres of sanitizer to the concerned authorities and the needy.
The sanitizer is being made in the company's plants itself as per the guidelines and standards of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Apart from this, Hero has also made 4 lakh protective face masks to the concerned officials. Also, the company has donated more than 2,000 motorcycles to authorities across India to help with coronavirus relief operations.
The 60 two-wheeler ambulance made by Hero is also being appreciated. These ambulances will come in handy in emergency situations. It will be useful to reach patients in rural and remote areas and take them to the nearest hospitals.
These ambulances have been built on Hero's motorcycles with 150 and more CC. Ambulance accessories also have sleeping equipment along with essential medical equipment like first aid kit, oxygen cylinders, fire extinguishers, and sirens.
To prepare food, the company is using the canteen kitchen of its plants, from which 15,000 meals are being distributed every day. So far, more than 3 lakh meals have been given to stranded labourers and homeless families in the areas of Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, and Gujarat. More than 6,000 ration kits have also been distributed in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Kerala.
The Hero group, including Hero MotoCorp, has promised a total of ₹ 100 crores for relief. Half of this amount has been contributed to the recently created PM-Care Fund of ₹ 50 crores, and the remaining ₹ 50 crores are being spent in other relief efforts.
