MG's G10 MPV may come within the next two years
The MG G10 will face the recently launched Kia Carnival and may be priced around ₹ 30 lakh.
MG Motor India has revealed its vehicles to be launched in the Indian market in the next two years. This includes Hector's 7-seater avatar, Hector Plus, and Glouster SUV, as well as G10 MPV, the company's first car launched in the country.
The first two of these will be launched this year itself, but MG is also seriously considering bringing the G10 MPV to the Indian market, and it can be launched in the next two years. In conversation with the website, MG Motor India President and MD, Rajiv Chhaba confirmed this while speaking about future launches. But before the arrival of G10, the company will also present its cheapest offer in India, which will be a small SUV.
The MG G10 will compete with the Kia Carnival in the market and is likely to be priced around ₹ 30 lakh (ex-showroom). This segment is still new in India, and Chhaba said that the initial success of Carnival has inspired MG to take a serious look at this segment. The company tried to know more about the vehicle from the customers at the Auto Expo.
In terms of dimensions, the MG G10 MPV is similar to the Kia Carnival, with a length of 5,168 mm, width 1,980 mm, height 1,928 mm, and wheelbase 3,198 mm. It can be offered in seven and nine seats, in which the second row will have individual captain seats.
The seven-seater car also has a sliding function for the second and third-row seats. The MPV has plenty of features such as a sunroof, power sliding rear doors, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, and MG's iSmart connected tech.
Internationally, the MG G10 is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 223 bhp and 345 Nm of peak torque and comes with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The car also gets 2.4-litre diesel or 1.9-liter diesel engines.
