Volkswagen started selling cars online in India
Volkswagen is preparing to give the car buying experience online to increase sales of its vehicles.
Volkswagen India has announced to start selling its cars online in the country. This announcement has been made in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus epidemic, due to which car companies have temporarily stopped making and selling vehicles.
The goal is to bring customers' car-buying experience online as dealerships remain closed amid lockdowns. Volkswagen says that it involves the entire process of buying a vehicle, that is to show customer interest, negotiate with the sales consultant and pass the loan.
At the initiative, Stephen Knapp, director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said, "Digitization has been the mainstay of our strategies at Volkswagen. With the launch of our simple and secure online retail platform, we are pushing to push the boundaries of sales. We want to give our customers the option to choose their preferred Volkswagen car through the contactless channel."
In a statement, Volkswagen stated that it has accumulated 137 cells and 116 service centres in the online sales process, allowing customers to choose their preferred dealership when booking online. The car or service can be booked through the Volkswagen India website.
To buy a vehicle, customers can get information like model features, price etc. Customers can request their preferred time slot for the service. The company is also providing pick-up and drop facility for this. Apart from this, the full payment can also be made online. All Volkswagen facilities will be sanitized regularly to protect employees and customers.
