The information about the 7-seater version of the Jeep Compass has been leaked online on Auto Export, a Brazilian website, which will be known as Jeep Grand Compass. According to the site, in Brazil, this model will be introduced in 2021 with the Compass facelift, which will be launched in the market with the same style and design.
Interestingly, FCA India President and Managing Director Partha Dutta have given detailed information that the company will launch a three-row 7-seater model in India, the bottom of which will be the 5-seater Compass SUV currently being sold. Partha Dutta has also given the information that the style and design of the 7-seater Jeep Compass will be very much like the Cherokee SUV.
While we expect this SUV to be the new generation Jeep Chiroki that is already selling in the US, the company may launch the 7-seater variant of its best-selling Jeep Compass in India. The rest of the carmakers are also planning to launch their new vehicles in this space, including the Tata Harrier-based 7-seater Tata Gravitas, MG's Hector Plus 6-seater, and Hyundai 7-seater Creta that have been spotted in Korea. The company can launch a new SUV with a 4 wheel drive option.
The Jeep Grand Compass will be similar in appearance to the Compass facelift that will be offered with several cosmetic changes, including changes to the grille and headlamps, new alloy wheels and other styling tail lamps. The 7-seater SUV is likely to get a modern interior, leather upholstery, and an updated infotainment system.
The panoramic sunroof can also be found in the car. The 7-seater Jeep Compass will be accompanied by a 2.0-liter diesel engine that will come with a manual and automatic transmission. After the launch, it will compete with cars like Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavor, and Mahindra Alturas G4.
