Coronavirus Lockdown: Meru Cabs and Flipkart join hands to deliver essential items
A significant challenge during coronavirus lockdown is to deliver everyday essentials to the people, without any delay. Some e-commerce companies in India are facing a shortage of staff, due to which the timely delivery of these goods is being hampered.
Now ride-healing cab operator Meru, in which Mahindra and Mahindra Limited has a stake, has come to Flipkart's assistance to speed up these deliveries. This partnership will help Flipkart customers deliver essential items in Bangalore, Delhi NCR, and Hyderabad on time safely and cleanly.
Neeraj Gupta, founder, and CEO of Meru said, "Meru will use its cabs to ensure timely and safe delivery to Flipkart's large customer base in an easy way. This service provides additional support to our driver-partners during this challenging time. Will also provide earning opportunities. "
According to the government guidelines, Meru will sanitize the vehicles to do this work. The dispatch hub features an ozone air purifier, allowing all drivers to sanitize their cabs, thus maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
He will also go through the training module of Flipkart to better understand the procedures for the safe and timely delivery of goods. Meru is also educating them by taking measures like wearing face masks and using sanitizers to stop the spread of the virus.
Kalyan Krishnamurthy, CEO of Flipkart Group, said, "We have a very safe and reliable method that we follow. We stand with the country in this fight against COVID-19 because we give priority to the well being and safety of all, including our customers and employees. "
The two organizations are hoping that this synergy between them will get the necessary items in time, besides supporting the government's efforts to keep Indians at home to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
