TVS Jupiter Grande removed from company website
Whether TVS will relaunch the Grande variant of Jupiter is not clear at the moment
Two-wheeler companies have been shrinking their model portfolios since the BS6 rule came into force. While some models have been temporarily discontinued, some have been removed from the line-up forever.
TVS Motor Company has also removed Jupiter Grande from the official website. Jupiter is TVS's best-selling scooter and currently has three BS6 compliant variants which are Standard, ZX, and Classic. The Jupiter Grande was the top-spec model that was launched in October 2018.
It was closed in June 2019 but it returned in September 2019. It was the first 110 cc scooter in India to offer smartphone connectivity.
The team reached out to TVS to learn about this, but the company did not specifically say anything about this move to Grande except that it was a special edition of Jupiter. In Jupiter Grande, smartphone connectivity with Bluetooth system was given.
At the time of its launch, it was priced at Rs 59,900 (ex-showroom), which was just ₹ 7,000 more expensive than the standard Jupiter variant. This connectivity system is also available on TVS N Torque 125 and gives riders both Android and iOS smartphones features such as call notifications, text notifications, over speeding alerts and trip reports.
Jupiter Grande included the 3D logo, chrome with blue paint, beige interior panels, machine cut alloy wheels and disc brakes in the front wheel. The engine was the same that comes in the Jupiter - 109.7 cc, single-cylinder that gives 7.9 bhp power and 8.4 Nm peak torque. Whether or not TVS will relaunch Jupiter Grande with the BS6 engine is not clear at the moment.
