Ola S1 Air Electric Scooter Launch Tomorrow – New Colour Option Teased
Ola Electric is eagerly preparing for the launch of its most affordable electric scooter, the Ola S1 Air. Prior to its debut in India, the EV manufacturer has unveiled a new Neon color option through its latest teaser. The purchase window for the Ola S1 Air electric scooter is set to open today, with an introductory price of Rs 1.09 lakh (ex-showroom).
Customers who make their purchase after July 30 will not be eligible for the introductory price, and the Ola S1 Air's price will be set at Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom) beyond that date. Notably, Ola Electric has made some notable changes to the Ola S1 Air compared to the outgoing Ola S1 range of electric scooters. The most significant change is the implementation of a new hub-mounted electric motor, generating 4.5kW of power. The base variant of the model is expected to come with a 2.5kWh battery pack.
In comparison, the Ola S1 electric scooter houses an electric motor producing 5.5kW of power and incorporates a larger 2.98kWh battery pack. The top-spec Ola S1 Pro electric scooter boasts a 3.97kWh battery pack. The Ola S1 Air demonstrates impressive acceleration, taking just 4.3 seconds to reach 40km/h, while maintaining a commendable top speed of 90km/h. According to Ola Electric, this model takes approximately 4.5 hours to charge to its full capacity using the standard 500W portable charger.
The upcoming Ola S1 Air electric scooter is expected to feature visually distinctive elements, such as a new conventional telescopic front suspension. Other changes include twin rear shocks, a dual-tone exterior, steel wheels, and a tubular rear grab rail.
Considering the launch of the Ola S1 Air, Ola Electric is likely to extend its lead in the Indian electric scooter market. The lower price tag is expected to attract more customers towards electric scooters as a viable and cost-effective transportation option.
